St. Petersburg sees the opening of the first large scale shopping mall St. Petersburg sees the opening of the first large scale shopping mall by the French Developer – Vinci Constructions Grands Projects. The 90 000 sq. m “Raduga” shopping mall opened its doors to customers on April 25, 2007. ASTERA has been involved in the project from the very beginning; consulting VINCI Constructions Grands Projects on various ssues relating to the latter’s entry on the Russian market, assisting in carrying out various marketing studies as well as being appointed as the exclusive leasing agent for the project. In the process of identifying potential tenants, ASTERA conducted negotiations with more than 2000 companies interested in becoming the future tenants of the RADUGA shopping mall and chose only those companies able to provide the highest level of service in line with the overall idea of the centre. As a result, the shopping centre will be home to the retail and entertainment leaders namely; the REAL hypermarket, the electronics supermarket MEDIA MARKT, a 14 screen cinema and entertainment centre Kinostar – the largest to date in St. Petersburg, OBI the German DIY superstore as well as numerous representatives of the fashion industry, sporting goods, restaurants, cafes, banks as well as a large selection of varied service providers. In the process of project realization, the French company Vinci Construction Grand Projects adhered to strict standards developed as a result of extensive international retail business. ASTERA representatives focused on identifying solid long term partners and development of mutually favourable terms for VINCI Construction as well as the future tenants. Over a two year period ASTERA facilitated the signing of over 100 long term agreements between VINCI Construction and the future tenants. “In the process of our cooperation with VINCI Construction, we successfully tackled difficulties and obstacles which are unavoidable in the realization of such a large project, ensuring its long term future from all sides of the equation, investor, tenants and future visitors to the shopping centre.
