30.11.2007 St Petersburg industry is leaving the centre During the last years 12 industrial enterprises have declared that they are intended to take production facilities out of the city centre. Yesterday Yuriy Rakov, the vice-chairman of Economic Development, Industrial Policy and Commerce Committee reported of this in the course of deputy hearings about 'On state and prospects of St Petersburg industry development'. Deputies, officials and St Petersburg plants' directors took part at the meeting organized by ZS St Petersburg Industry, Economy and Property Commission. According to Yuriy Rakov about 12 owners have already applied to the city authorities with request of changing the plots speciality from industry to residential and social-and-business ones. The part of plant is going to take their facilities out of the central part to the suburbs. Though an official refused to name the enterprises explaining that relocation process is developing.
Also Yuriy Rakov noted that there are good conditions for buy-out of industrial plots to property in St Petersburg. 'The most favorable preferential terms were in 2006. In St Petersburg about 60% of bought out lands belonged to industry enterprises. From the beginning of 2007 cadastral value of St Petersburg land somewhat raised, but these figures will be fixed for three years', Yuriy Rykov reported.
